Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced a life-changing empowerment package for a visually impaired gospel singer, Chris Vic, including a new home, a state-of-the-art music studio, and a lifetime monthly salary.
The Governor made the disclosure on Sunday morning via a statement on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, accompanied by a photograph of himself and the singer.
According to the post, the Governor has directed the immediate allocation of a plot of land in Uyo to the musician, with the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) scheduled to be signed next week. Beyond the land, the state government has committed to building a four-bedroom flat for the singer and providing N100 million specifically for the establishment of his music studio.
”I have directed the Commissioner for Lands to allocate a plot of land in Uyo to Chris Vic, and I will sign the Certificate of Occupancy next week,” the Governor wrote.
”We will also build him a four-bedroom flat and commit N100 million to set up his music studio. This is separate from the cost of the land and the house.”
In addition to the infrastructure support, Governor Eno announced that Chris Vic will receive a monthly allowance of N1 million for the duration of his tenure as Governor.
Governor Eno stated that the gesture was intended to demonstrate that his administration cares for all citizens, particularly persons with disabilities, and to serve as a reminder that “even in difficult moments, God is still good.”
Chris Vic recently gained attention after finishing as the second runner-up in a state-sponsored gospel music talent competition.
The Governor’s intervention aims to ensure the singer has the stability and resources to pursue his career professionally.
