Mikel charges Super Eagles to lift AFCON title in Morocco

Nations Cup wiinner John Mikel Obi has expressed optimism that the Super Eagles are capable of lifting the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

The 2025 AFCON is set to kick off on 21 December, and the final squad of Nigeria has already been unveiled by coach Eric Chelle.

Nigeria will be battling against Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania in the group stage of the 24-team tournament.

The former Chelsea star, via his Instagram handle, charged the players to bring home the AFCON 2025 title.

“Bring it home, lads!

Recall that Mikel was part of the team that won Nigeria’s last Nations Cup title in 2013.

The Eagles finished in second place in the last edition, and will be hoping to go a step further.

They begin their campaign against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania on 23 December, before facing Tunisia on 27 December and go against Uganda on 30 December.
