AFCON: Salah scores winner for Egypt after S’Africa beat Angola

The Pharaohs of Egypt started their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group B campaign with a 2-1 win against Zimbabwe on Monday night.

It was Mohamed Salah who scored the winner in added time to hand his side all three points from the encounter.

Zimbabwe had scored the opener through Prince Dube in the 20th minute. They pressed on, but Omar Marmoush equalised on 64 minutes.

The game looked to be going for a draw when Salah controls a ball into him and then swivels and knocks a left-foot shot past Zimbabwe keeper Washington Arubi.
