ABUJA – The ruling All Progressives Congress has opened the new year with a message of appreciation, reassurance and renewed political resolve, thanking Nigerians for what it described as their steadfast patriotism and resilience amid sweeping national reforms.
The APC, in a statement on Thursday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, acknowledged the sacrifices made by citizens while insisting that the Bola Tinubu-led administration is steadily turning long-standing national challenges into opportunities for transformation.
According to the APC, Nigerians have remained firm in their support as the government confronts deep-rooted problems across critical sectors, while working to improve the material conditions of everyday life.
The party said: “We are thankful to Nigerians for their patriotism and resilient support of our great party and President Bola Tinubu-led administration as we continue to confront and transform complex age-old challenges in key sectors of our national life, and remake the material conditions of life for our good people.”
As part of its New Year message, the APC urged Nigerians to see the beginning of the year as a moment for reflection and recommitment to the country’s collective journey.
It said: “Every new year offers us an opportunity for candid reflection on, and rededication to, our journey of nationhood. It is a time for deep gratitude for the blessings, opportunities and accomplishments in our lives as individuals and as a nation. It is also a time for Renewed Hope of a brighter, safer, more united, peaceful and prosperous nation.”
The party maintained that the endurance shown by Nigerians is beginning to yield tangible outcomes, noting that the most difficult phase of the administration’s reforms is easing.
It added: “Our great party is delighted that this endurance and sacrificial love of country has begun to bear visible fruits, and that the transient pains of the administration’s deep and focused reforms are now dissipating steadily with all vital economic indicators showing a steadily rebounding economy and a resurgent Nigeria.”
Framing the government’s achievements as a shared national victory, the APC said progress recorded so far belongs to all Nigerians.
It said: “The administration’s success is Nigeria’s success, and every Nigerian should be proud of our collective progress, so far, as we march, with full faith and confidence, into a future of shared prosperity.”
The ruling party also paused to honour members of the nation’s security forces, describing them as the backbone of the fight against terrorism, banditry and violent crime.
It noted: “On this day, we pay a special tribute to the men and women of our security forces in the frontline of the war on terror, banditry and other violent crimes. We thank you for your devoted service, exceptional patriotism and invaluable sacrifice. You have the highest respect of a grateful nation. May God continue to bless and protect our troops.”
Looking ahead to 2026, the APC said it remains committed to strengthening its relationship with Nigerians and justifying the confidence placed in it as a national political platform.
The party stated: “As a party, in the new year 2026, we will remain focused and work even harder to continue to justify the confidence that Nigerians have reposed in us as the pan-Nigeria progressive party of choice.”
It further reaffirmed its backing for President Tinubu’s reform agenda, describing it as far-reaching and already delivering improvements across the economy and security architecture.
The statement said: “We reaffirm our unwavering support for President Tinubu’s epochal reforms that are already restoring macroeconomic stability, easing microeconomic conditions, improving infrastructure delivery, boosting agricultural production, expanding oil sector output, and bolstering national security.”
The APC assured Nigerians that the president remains firmly committed to fully implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda, with prosperity for all citizens as its ultimate goal.
It concluded with a prayerful note for the nation’s future: “… And so with peace and plenty, Nigeria may be blessed.”
