I worked on Stranger Things and the Netflix set was pure chaos

An individual who worked on the set of Netflix hit Stranger Things has revealed what Millie Bobby Brown is like off camera.

The hit show recently wrapped up its five-season run, which spanned across a decade.

Viewers saw Millie, 21, play key character Eleven – aka Jane Hopper/Ives – for the series’ entire duration.

On a Substack blog called St Luke’s Sketchbook, Dominic Morlino wrote about his experience working as a production assistant (PA) on the set.

Already having a desire to become a filmmaker, he and a friend landed PA positions via the friend’s father, who worked on the crew.

The friend, Jacob, began working on set first in June 2021 – with Dominic later getting the call to join him in mid-July.

Recounting his early moments on set – including meeting Millie – Dominic penned: ‘”Jacob calls: “hey do you want to meet Millie Bobby Brown?”

‘She was super nice and gave me a hug on meeting me.

‘Apparently she loves getting to know everyone on set, especially the PAs. I don’t even think she was filming that day, she just wanted to hang out.

‘Also, good for her for not being freaked out by COVID; this was 2021 and everyone else in CA and Atlanta still was.’

He was interested to speak with the script supervisor – thinking it could be a good pipeline for his career.

Although Dominic did not get the opportunity, he recalled overhearing a conversation the script supervisor had with actors Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo, who play Mike and Dustin respectively.

Dominic wrote: ‘From the little conversation I overheard, they were talking about how different season 4 was from season 1, where they didn’t have craft services (24/7 snacks on set) or a video village (a tent with monitors for immediate playback of shots for directors/producers/actors).

‘It sounded to me like Matarazzo was playfully lamenting how big the show had gotten, but maybe that was just me.’

As the new guy, Dominic had the unenviable task of remaining until all trucks were packed and headed out.

He left the set at 2am, having arrived at 7am the previous day – doing a 17 hour shift altogether.

While Dominic waited to be called back for more days on set, this ultimately never came to pass.

He said: ‘I got my one day on set and that was it. Honestly, I kinda knew that’s how it would go. I truly wasn’t needed that day. There were like 10 other PAs and I was the extra extra help.’

Despite this, a contact he met during his time on the Stranger Things set got him some work on a Rob Lowe Netflix film called Dog Gone.

Elsewhere, Stranger Things fans were convinced that a secret ‘missing’ final episode would land on Netflix on January 7 – after spotting a series of clues through season five.

Viewers tuned in to watch the final episode of the sci-fi hit show on New Year’s Day, which drew to a close the winding story of Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven and her band of friends in the fictional Indiana town of Hawkins.

The action-packed two-hour episode saw the group of teens, made up of Will, Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Max, and their siblings and pals, Steve, Nancy, Jonathan and Robin, take on bad guy Vecna in one final battle.

They suggested the finale was just an illusion created by show villain Vecna – who is still alive.

Fans took social media to compile evidence for the case, pointing towards a series of inconsistencies in the story which would suggest the seemingly perfect ending has been manufactured.

The most talked-about example comes from the graduation scene at Hawkins High, which sees Will, Max, Dustin, Lucas and Mike waving goodbye to their high school.

In the scene, the graduates are sitting with their hands crossed against their laps, holding one in front of the other – a signature pose held by Henry Creel, and those possessed by him, throughout the show.

While the graduates themselves are wearing orange gowns, instead of the green gowns fans had expected after finding a clue in a book from Nancy (Natalia Dyer).

Members of the Wheeler family, including Nancy, Mike and mum Karen (Cara Buono) also debut hairstyles that are eerily similar to Henry’s.

However, ultimately no episode dropped on that date – proving the theory was untrue all along.

All seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix.
