Mercedes-Benz CEO Gives An Exclusive Look At The New 2027 S-Class Ahead Of Reveal On January 29th
Earlier in the week, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius gave an exclusive first look at the new 2027 Mercedes-Benz S‑Class , ahead of the World Premiere of the refreshed “world’s best-selling ultra-luxury sedan” on Thursday January 29th 2026.
Speaking with content creator Justin Tse in a new short film on YouTube, Mercedes CEO explained that the refreshed S-Class has more than 50 percent of its parts (around 2,700 components) new or updated.
Some of the defining innovations on the new S‑Class he highlighted included a bolder exterior featuring a new Grille, an upright star ‘bonnet ornament’ and an enhanced AIRMATIC air suspension that offers a greater comfort even while driving on the “long, undulating speed bumps.”
W123, The Most Successful Mercedes-Benz Model Series To Date, Turns 50 Years
The Mercedes-Benz model series 123 (predecessor to the E-Class) turned 50 since the executive car made its world premiere in January 1976 at the Paul Ricard Circuit in Southern France, replacing the W114/W115 series.
About a year after the premiere of the 4-door saloon (W123), the 2-door Coupé (C123) and the 5-door T-Model (S 123) joined the lineup in 1977, followed by the long-wheelbase 4-door limousine (V123) – extended by 63 centimeters.
By 1986, when the production run ended, a total of almost 2.7 million vehicles have been produced – making the predecessor of the E-Class the most successful Mercedes-Benz model series to date.
The Bugatti Veyron Returns As A One-off, Bespoke Hypercar Called “F.K.P. Hommage”
Bugatti also unveiled the all-new F.K.P. Hommage , a one-off hypercar that pays tribute to the Veyron and its visionary creator, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch – who was then the Chairman of the Volkswagen Group.
The second creation of Programme Solitaire, the Bugatti F.K.P. Hommage features the same 1,600 hp quad-turbocharged engine in the Chiron Super Sport – “the very car that fulfilled Piëch’s speed ambitions by exceeding 300 mph.”
The Chiron Super Sport-based F.K.P. Hommage shares the exterior design of the Veyron, including its distinctive red finish, though every surface has now been refined for both performance and visual balance.

U.S president Donald Trump also rode in a heavily armored Cadillac Escalade presidential limousine for the very first time on Friday during his trip to Davos in Switzerland, where he attended the World Economic Forum’s 56th Annual Meeting.
Photos shared by TWZ showed a motorcade featuring at least two Escalades and several Chevy Suburban SUVs waiting for Trump following his arrival in Davos in a U.S. Marine Corps VH-60N Marine One helicopter.
As expected, details about the new addition to the U.S. Secret Service’s fleet are kept secret. Per the photos, the stretched Cadillac Escalades are heavily armored around the front windshield and doors.
