Liverpool secured a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United in a Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday night.
Hugo Ekitike turned the game on its head by scoring two goals in two minutes as champions Liverpool recorded their first Premier League win of 2026.
Anthony Gordon had initially opened the scoring for Newcastle with a fine finish in the 36th minute before Ekitike stunned the vistors with a quick double.

Earlier in the day, Chelsea came from two goals down to seal a 3-2 win over West Ham in a dramatic London derby at Stamford Bridge.
After trailing 2-0 to goals from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville, the Blues fought back to level with goals from Joao Pedro and Cucurella.
Enzo Fernandez’s 92nd-minute winner sparked wild scenes of celebration, as West Ham’s Todibo was sent off for part in melee after lengthy VAR check.
The result lifts Chelsea above Manchester United into fourth place in the Premier League, while West Ham remain five points below Nottingham Forest.
