OSOGBO – Former Secretary to Osun State Government (SSG) under the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti and hundreds of his loyalists have joined the Accord Party in Osun State.
Adeoti, who led hundreds of his Loyalists out of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following disagreement over the choice of Governorship Candidate of the party, said he is joining the party to join forces with Governor Adeleke to secure a second term in office.
Receiving Adeoti and his Loyalists at the government house in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke expressed happiness at the development, saying it will definitely change the narrative of the political permutation of the state during the forthcoming Governorship election in the state.
Speaking at the occasion, Moshood Adeoti praised Governor Adeleke for the remarkable progress achieved in Osun State over the past three years, describing him as “a very lovely man” whose administration has demonstrated visible transformation across multiple sectors.
Adeoti explained that the collective decision to back Governor Adeleke stemmed from the tangible developmental strides and the impact of governance witnessed in communities statewide.
He highlighted the people-centric approach of the current leadership, noting that the Governor and his team are closely connected with citizens and live among the communities they serve, enhancing responsiveness and fostering public trust in government.
Reaffirming his personal commitment to grassroots development, Adeoti emphasized his long-standing principle of prioritizing local growth, declaring, “Osun for Osun,” underscoring his dedication to the state’s progress.
Governor Adeleke officially welcomed Adeoti and his loyalists, describing the former SSG as a “brother” and a skilled grassroots mobilizer who shares a long-standing relationship with him.
The Governor assured the newcomers that the party upholds equality among all members and tasked them to begin mobilization from the grassroots units to strengthen the Accord Party’s presence in the state.
“Every member of our party, whether long-standing or new, has equal opportunity and responsibilities. Together, we will ensure the people of Osun witness even more progress,” Governor Adeleke stated.
During the meeting, discussions centered on collaborative strategies for grassroots mobilization, ensuring that development initiatives continue to reach all local communities effectively.
Governor Adeleke commended Adeoti for his long-standing dedication to Osun State, emphasizing that his experience and commitment would strengthen the Accord Party and its mission to deliver results to the people.
The Governor reiterated his resolve to build an inclusive political environment where all members work together in unity, guided by the shared vision of sustainable development and social progress
The official induction of Moshood Adeoti and his team signals a broader alignment of stakeholders in support of Governor Adeleke’s second-term aspirations, reflecting growing confidence in his leadership.
Governor Adeleke concluded by assuring that the administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the people, promising consistent engagement with citizens to further consolidate the gains of the past three years.
The event was attended by prominent state officials, including the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olumide Adewale Egbedun, Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi, and other members of the House of Assembly.
