Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has asked President Bola Tinubu to disclose the reason for the removal of the minister of finance, Wale Edun.
DAILY POST reports that President Tinubu on Tuesday removed Edun as minister of finance and announced Taiwo Oyedele as his replacement.
The presidency was, however, mum on the reason for the sudden reshuffle.
Reacting, Dino, in a post on his official Facebook page, questioned if the development was due to the sacked Minister’s inability to cover up alleged stolen funds.
He wrote, “Mr President, when Ministers are sacked in civ@ilised climes, the government must explain why they are sacked.
“Was the minister of Finance removed because he could not cover up the stolen 24 billion dollars (34 trillion naira) diverted from our revenue? World Bank no dey lie. SDM”.
