He noted that while several aspirants were eyeing the same position, his ambition is driven by a genuine desire to serve and secure the party’s ticket, because since inception of the nation’s democracy in 1999, the ward has never presented a representative at the state house of assembly.
He emphasised the critical role of party leaders and executives in determining who emerges as the party’s candidate, stressing the need for unity and collective backing.
He assured party faithful that if given the , he would not disappoint the leadership, members of the APC and the public.
Highlighting his political and leadership experience, Ero pointed to his active involvement in student unionism and mainstream politics.
He disclosed that he had previously held several leadership positions, including roles in the Students’ Union Government and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and had also contested for councillorship and the chairmanship of Oredo Local Government.
He further linked his ambition to the broader political goal of delivering electoral success for the party, particularly the projected 2.5 million votes for the president in the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence in his ability to mobilise grassroots support, especially among youths, to achieve this target if given the party’s ticket.
He also pledged to introduce innovative and impactful representation, moving beyond traditional constituency projects, which he said have not adequately addressed the needs of the people.
He urged party members to trust him with the mandate, promising to deliver effective representation and development to Oredo West Constituency.
