President Bola Tinubu has won by a landslide in the All Progressives Congress primary held across the country on Saturday, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In Jigawa State, Tinubu polled 206,520 votes with zero for challenger Osifor Stanley, as Governor Umar Namadi announced the outcome in Dutse, the state capital.
The exercise was held in all 287 political wards across the state’s 27 local government areas of the state.
Our correspondent reports that the ruling party members came out in large numbers from Saturday morning to take part in accreditation and voting.
Announcing the results at the end of the coalition held on Saturday at the presidential lodge, Government House, Dutse, Jigawa state capital, Governor Umar Namadi declared that a total of 330,327 voters were registered for the exercise in the state.
“Out of that number, 206,520 voters were accredited to vote,” he stated.
In Imo, the President polled 582,960 votes.
The State Collation Officer for the APC presidential primary in Imo State and Governor of Imo, Hope Uzodimma, disclosed that Tinubu polled a total of 582,960 votes to defeat his opponent, Stanley Osifo, who polled 103 votes.
Uzodinma said, “The exercise witnessed massive participation by party faithful across the state, and they conducted themselves peacefully under the supervision of party officials and electoral committees with officials from INEC, police, and the DSS monitoring.
“The outcome reaffirmed the overwhelming support enjoyed by President Tinubu within the APC structure in Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
Meanwhile, in Ogun, Tinubu polled 322,485 votes.
The primaries were conducted across the 20 local government areas of the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who served as the state coordinator and collation officer, announced the result at the Presidential Lodge in Abeokuta.
Abiodun was supported by former Governor Olusegun Osoba, Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziak Salako, the APC governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, Senator representing Ogun Central, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, State APC Chairman, Yemi Sanusi, among other APC leaders.
Announcing the results, Abiodun said Tinubu polled 322,485 votes to defeat his rival, Stanley Osifo, who scored zero votes.
The governor described the process as free, fair, and transparent.
“Now, I, Prince Adedapo Abiodun, the collation officer of the 2026 All Progressives Congress Presidential Primary for Ogun State, hereby present the result for the state as follows: total number of registered voters — 343,407; total number of accredited voters — 323,164; total number of votes cast — 322,485.
“At the end of the voting exercise, the aspirants scored the following votes: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 322,485 votes, while Stanley Osifo scored zero votes.
“By the authority of the National Working Committee, I hereby declare President Bola Ahmed Tinubu the winner of the Ogun State Presidential Primary for the year 2026,” Abiodun declared.
