“Morocco haven’t lost a game since they lost to Kenya last year in Nairobi,” he said. Coming into this game, the Atlas Lions were on a 29-match unbeaten streak. Their last defeat was to Kenya during the 2024 Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) held last year at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. How Morocco lost to Kenya Harambee Stars shocked the North African giants, grinding out a 1-0 win in the group stages. Ryan Ogam scored the solo goal, but Benni McCarthy’s side were forced to play a huge chunk of the game with 10 men after Chrispine Erambo was sent off.
Morocco overcame that loss and went on to win the tournament. However, it is worth noting that the team that lost to Kenya was local-based as per CHAN rules and not the ones that starred against Brazil like Achraf Hakimi or Yassine Bounou.

In the first half, we had difficulty getting out of the pressure; we could have had more control,” said Carlo Ancelotti after facing Ouahbi at the World Cup.
