A litany of former Black Stars footballers paid tribute to the late Christian Atsu during his final funeral rites.
Atsu’s funeral is currently ongoing, being held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
The funeral was attended by many dignitaries in the political sphere including former President Mahama, Assin Central MP and NPP Presidential candidate aspirant Kennedy Agyapong and many others.

Similarly, tons of former Black Stars footballers also showed up to pay tribute to their fallen teammate.
Mubarak Wakaso, Atsu’s best friend, Asamoah Gyan, Michael Essien and his wife, former Black Stars coaches Kwesi Appiah and C.K Akonnor were all given the chance to deliver their tributes.
They all delivered emotional tributes which can be read below…
Atsu’s wife, Marie-Claire Rupio, also delivered an emotional tribute confessing how his death has left her broken.
