Lampard was sacked from his role as Everton manager following a poor run of form – but he’s planning a return

However, according to The Sun, the 44-year-old is not letting that experience derail his ambitions.

It’s believed he’s keenly eyeing the situations at Crystal Palace and Leicester City, with the former managerless after sacking Patrick Vieira.

The Foxes meanwhile have had a tough season and there is the potential for upheavel in the summer.

Fulham are also a team who could potentially require a new head coach with Marco Silva attracting interest from Tottenham thanks to his work in west London.

Former Palace owner Simon Jordan, though, urged the club he still supports to avoid Lampard as they attempt to remain in the top division of English football.

“We need nine points to stay in this division and how are we going to get them out of 11 games?

“Whether it is a short-term fix, you have to get nine-ten points to get yourself in this division next year and then look broader.

“If you start veering into the territory of people like Lampard or Gerrard, well Lampard was interviewed by Palace a couple of years ago and they didn’t want him then so what has changed?

“He would have got Everton relegated – he was a disaster at Everton towards the end. Gerrard was a disaster at Aston Villa. Why would any one of those guys be a fix?”
