Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn asked ‘What Anthony Joshua’s a*** smell like’ during brutal ‘Home Truths’ interview with Capital FM host Roman Kemp

Eddie Hearn was asked a seriously strange question about Anthony Joshua during a recent interview.

The boxing promoter, who went head-to-head with Simon Jordan on talkSPORT earlier this week, continued his press tour ahead of Joshua’s April 1 fight against Jermaine Franklin by appearing on Capital FM.

Hearn joined Jordan in the talkSPORT studio for a fiery encounter

Hearn’s interview with Roman Kemp took a funny turn when they began to play a game of ‘Home Truths’ and the Capital Breakfast host accused the Matchroom Sports chairman of brown-nosing his most famous client.

He said: “You’re a boxing promoter, you must buy the finest things in life.

“You must buy the finest food. You must buy the finest colognes, fragrances, so you must have a good nose. So, I just wanted to know, what does Anthony Joshua’s a*** smell like?”

Hearn replied: “Woah! I like that, that’s good. It smells really good.

“That close relationship has brought me extreme wealth, I won’t lie.

“I think you need to save your money because I think your career is extremely limited and I think you need to look in a different direction because right now I don’t know what you do.”

Hearns response featured a call back to an earlier part of the show when he suggested his interviewer was only working for Capital FM because his dad, Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet fame, called in a favour.

The 43- year-old said: “I think your dad knew somebody at Capital FM.

“I think the conversation went something like this, ‘Remember when I did all those favours for you? I used to come on your show and sing live. Well, my son is pretty useless, to be honest, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with him.

“I need a favour, he’s got no talent, he’s got no ability, he’s got no prospects, if you could just give him a job, cleaning, running coffee, anything’. And the guy said, ‘I promised you a big favour, I’m gonna put him in front of the mic.’”

Hearn will continue his press tour in an effort to sell tickets for Joshua’s latest fight at O2 Arena which is surprisingly struggling to attract fans despite the fact ‘AJ’ previously sold-out Wembley Stadium and the Principality Stadium twice.

The former two-time unified heavyweight champion is coming off consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk but Hearn believes a win over Franklin will put his client back in the title mix and he has even suggested Joshua could fight WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury later this year.
