Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has sounded out Julian Nagelsmann’s camp about a possible summer move, talkSPORT understands.
The German was sacked by Bayern Munich last week, and Spurs see him as a potential candidate to replace Antonio Conte.

Nagelsmann is a top contender for the Tottenham job
talkSPORT also understands Spurs are waiting for an indication from Nagelsmann that he would be open to replacing the Italian before making any formal approach.
However, Nagelsmann isn’t the only manager being considered, with Levy an admirer of Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi.
The Italian has enjoyed a fine start to life on the south coast and has the Seagulls in the FA Cup semi-final and in contention for the Champions League places.
Meanwhile, ex-Tottenham gaffer Mauricio Pochettino remains keen on returning to north London, but the Spurs hierarchy are split over bringing the Argentine back.
Conte’s former assistant, Cristian Stellini, will take charge of Spurs until the end of the season, with Ryan Mason serving as his assistant.
The former Chelsea boss left Spurs via mutual agreement after an explosive rant earlier this month.

After Tottenham’s 3-3 draw with Southampton, in which Spurs were 3-1 up, Conte launched an astonishing attack on his players and the club.
The 53-year-old called his players selfish and suggested there was a losing culture at the club.
He said: “The problem is we have shown we are not a team. We are 11 players.
“I see selfish players. I see players that don’t want to help each other, don’t play with heart.
“It is the same every season, no matter who the manager is. They’re used to it here.
“Don’t play for something important. They don’t want to play under pressure. They don’t want to play under stress.
“Until now, I try to hide the situation but now, no, because I repeat I don’t want to see what I’ve seen today because this is unacceptable and also unacceptable for the fans.”

Conte’s outburst almost challenged Spurs to sack him
On Sunday evening, Spurs announced Conte had left, however, Stellini and most of Conte’s staff remain in north London until the end of the season.
The north Londoners have been urged to appoint Nagelsmann as Conte’s successor by former boss Martin Jol.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Dutchman said: “There are still one or two very good ones around. I think Nagelsmann, for example, is the best in Europe.
“He’s young, gifted, talented. He did well at Hoffenheim, he did well at RB Leipzig. He did very well with a smaller team, you know, and they didn’t have all the resources.
“There are a few guys on the market.”
Jol added: “I don’t want to give other clubs an idea, but I think Nagelsmann is the best. He’s a great manager.”

Nagelsmann’s availability has come as a shock to many after Bayern replaced him with Thomas Tuchel.
The young German guided the Bundesliga giants to the Champions League quarter-finals and second in the league.
But concerns over form and unrest in the dressing room saw the 35-year-old get relieved of his duties, which means Spurs might have a massive chance in the summer.
