Fire destroyed N113.2m property in March – Kano service official

Kano Fire Service, on Monday, said properties lost to different fire disasters for the month of March was estimated at N113.2million

The Fire Service spokesman in the state, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, made the disclosure in a press statement.

He said 86 fire calls were made in the month of March under review, including 43 rescue calls and 10 false alarms.

Also, according to the statement, the Service saved properties estimated at N285, 655.000 while it recorded 11 deaths from fire disasters.

Similarly, the service successfully saved 45 people from different fire disasters in the outgoing month of March.

The statement read,“Estimated properties destroyed by the fire disaster: N 113,200,000. Estimated properties saved by our men: N 285,655,000. The total number of lives lost in the month of March is 11.while the number of people that, we successfully saved from different fire disasters is 45.”

“Under the leadership of the Director, Alh. Hassan Muhammad, the fire service received emergency calls from its 27  stations across the state for the month of March under review , which include fire calls, rescue calls and false alarms.”

“We will seize this opportunity to advise the general public to handle fire with, care, so as to avoid inferno.

He advised motorists to abide by traffic rules and regulation, so as to avoid road accident.
