Manchester United defeated Brentford 1-0 in their Premier League encounter at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils started brightly and controlled most of the opening minutes. Brentford looked disorganised and struggled to contain United and its high-flying attack.

As the rain poured at the iconic stadium, so did Brentford’s defence face attack after attack.
The visitors found some balance in the second half, but it was not enough to cause any upset to the home team. Their closest chance fell to Kevin Schade, but the Freiburg loanee blasted his shot straight at David De Gea.

The match ended in United’s favour who are fourth with 53 points, while Brentford are ninth with 43 points.
West Ham’s disastrous season continued in style as they were crushed 5-1 by Newcastle at the London Stadium.
Newcastle took the lead in the sixth minute after Callum Wilson scored a beautiful header from Allan Saint-Maximin’s cross. Joelinton doubled the Magpies’ lead in the 13th minute after dribbling Lukasz Fabianski and slotting into an empty net.
West Ham thought they could see a way back into the game after Kurt Zouma headed home from a corner, but Callum Wilson was quick to slot home after Jacob Murphy dispossessed Nayef Aguerd at the edge of the box to square for the Englishman to tap home.
Joelinton grabbed a brace to help Newcastle’s mauling of West Ham
Alexander put the game beyond doubt in the 82nd minute before Joelinton put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute.

Newcastle United are third with 53 points, same as fourth-placed Manchester United but with a far superior goal difference.
West Ham are 15th with 27 points, with only goal difference keeping them away from a relegation spot.
