The deceased, a final-year student of the Civil Engineering Department, was beaten to death by an angry mob on Monday for allegedly stealing a phone. The incident was said to have happened in the Awo Hall of the institution. The deceased was rushed to the Emergency Medicine Department of OAU Teaching Hospital on Tuesday afternoon and was confirmed dead. “Nobody knows that students can go to that level of indiscipline to cost the life of their mate,” Olanrewaju said. He stressed that the suspects should have adhered to the constitutional provisions and the university’s regulations rather than taking the law into their hands.
