Abuja fraud-fighters reaffirm commitment to accountability for economic growth

The Abuja Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) has restated its commitment to promoting accountability as part of efforts to support economic development.

At the Institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja, the Chapter Chairman, Mrs Petu Joyce Aina, said the meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen Nigeria’s anti-fraud efforts and recognise professionals who uphold integrity across the country.

Hosted at the Ministry of Finance, the AGM began with a review of the chapter’s activities, combining policy discussions with professional development sessions.

Delivering a presentation, Dr Stacy Nwodo examined chain-of-custody standards and evidence integrity—issues that are becoming more complex with the rise of digital fraud.

In another presentation, Dr Obayi Titus analysed corporate fraud patterns and the growing need for cross-border investigative partnerships.

Speaking at the event, the Pioneer Chairman and Chief Executive, Dr Isa Salifu Egah, described the chapter as “home,” and stressed the importance of sustained advocacy.
