After US Airstrikes, Tinubu Vows Sustained War Against Terrorists

President Bola Tinubu has vowed that Nigeria will sustain military operations against terrorist networks and criminal elements following recent joint airstrikes conducted by the United States in collaboration with Nigerian forces.

Tinubu confirmed the strikes in his New Year address, stating that decisive actions were taken against terrorist targets in parts of the North-West on December 24 as part of ongoing counterterrorism cooperation with international partners.

“Our Armed Forces have since sustained operations against terror networks and criminal strongholds across the North-West and North-East,” the President said.

He assured Nigerians that security and intelligence agencies would deepen collaboration with regional and global partners in 2026 to eliminate threats to national security and protect lives and property.

Tinubu added that the government remained committed to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring that criminal and terrorist groups find no safe haven anywhere in the country.

The President also paid tribute to the Armed Forces, urging Nigerians to continue supporting security personnel as they confront evolving security threats.
