His ring gave him away right when we started talking. He was a kind man so I thought I could keep him as a friend. When he called, the conversation was innocent. When we texted, it was about life and how we were both living it.

I would ask about his wife and kids and he would gleefully answer, “Oh they are doing very well. I haven’t seen them in weeks but they are cheerful when we talk.”

So I got to know he wasn’t living with his wife. He came to my place to visit. Sometimes he would give me money to make meals for him. And then he proposed.

“I thought you loved your family. What are you going to do with me?” I asked him. He answered, “I want to be honest with you, all I want from you is a cuddle and nothing more.”

According to him, sometimes he misses the warmth of a woman and wishes he had a woman next to him in bed but he doesn’t want to cheat on his wife. He would only come to my place, share my bed for a while and all we would do is cuddle.

It sounded strange to me. I’ve heard men say, “Just the tip” but by the time you realize, they are fully in so I didn’t believe his request. He kept asking for an opportunity to prove it. That he wouldn’t take more than a cuddle.

One night we spent the night together and that was all he did, my head on his chest and his hand around me as we slept. We would change positions several times but however we slept, our skins had to touch. We’ve done this for over two months. He doesn’t make another request. Just cuddling until the morning comes and he’ll leave.

I asked him, “Isn’t this cheating too? You’re in another woman’s bed.”

He answered, “It’s safer than the other available options.”

Three Months After Our Breakup, He Got Married

I don’t see us going on with this for long because I’ll have a boyfriend one day and he won’t accept this arrangement but I’m asking, is this not weird? Just cuddling in its purest sense and meaning. Nothing else.
