Chris, an American travel content creator, has shared his ordeal following a new US presidential travel ban, which has effectively prevented his Nigerian wife, Adenike, from moving to the United States.
Chris explained that they have been married for over a year and a half now and have been waiting since May 2024 for her immigrant visa interview.
However, under the new proclamation, the US will no longer issue immigrant visas to Nigerian spouses, removing an earlier exemption that allowed family-based immigration.
He noted that his wife has never visited the United States or met most of his relatives, despite them knowing each other for five years.

Chris added that many Americans underestimate how difficult legal migration can be and said he uses his platform to highlight families caught in prolonged immigration delays.
He called on viewers to share his story to raise awareness for others facing similar challenges.

Then why not travel down to Nigeria to hang out with her whenever you’re on leave? You can even bring your family members along so that they can finally meet her. Just make sure you meet her in a safe area in Nigeria to avoid kidnapping and stuff.
