Antonio Brace Gives West Ham Comfortable 2-0 Win Over Larnaca In Europa R16 Match

March 09, (THEWILL) – West Ham’s Michail Antonio scored a brace to lead the English side to a 2-0 victory against AEK Larnaca in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The London team took the lead after 36 minutes, when Said Benrahma delivered an excellent cross for Antonio to score with a brilliant header. Antonio struck again just ten minutes later, curling a stunning effort into the top corner.

Although Antonio missed out on a hat-trick in the second half, West Ham maintained their control of the match. Despite the hosts’ attempts to push forward and score a goal, the Hammers’ defence remained strong, and the team secured an advantageous win without having to break a sweat.

The Hammers have now won more games in the Europa competition (6) than in the English Premier League (5) this season. Their next match will be in the EPL against Aston Villa on Sunday. The Hammers will hope to continue their recent good form and earn another crucial victory in their quest for European qualification.

Meanwhile, Apollon Limassol will face AEK Larnaca in the 1. Division Championship Playoff on Monday, with the former aiming to climb up from 5th spot in the standings of the top division of Cypriot football.
