The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has stated that only an idol worshipper posing as a pastor would instruct church members to fortify themselves with charms.
Pastor Giwa was reacting to a video of a pastor in Lagos State instructing his members to fortify themselves with charms against Islamic terrorists.
Addressing his congregation in Akure, Ondo State, the clergyman questioned whether the pastor was aware that herbalists who prepare such charms usually die.
He said: “Somebody sent a video to me last week about a certain prophet in Lagos who told his members to fortify themselves with charms against the Islamic terrorists.
“However, I doubt if the man in question is a man of God. Has he forgotten that a herbalist who prepares a charm dies? It is only God that never dies.
“Some trust in chariots and horses, but those who trust in the name of God will never be disappointed.”
Making a Biblical reference to 1 Kings chapter 18, Pastor Giwa noted that God never fails those who depend on Him.
He added: “In 1 Kings chapter 18, prophet Elijah gathered the people to witness the power of God against the power of Baals. He asked the prophet of Baals to prepare a sacrifice and call their gods to send down fire.
