The Nigerian Army’s Department of Military Secretary (Army) has organised a sensitisation lecture on career planning and prospects for officers within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility.
The lecture, held on September 11, 2025, at the 81 Division Officers’ Mess, Outer Marina, Victoria Island, Lagos, was designed to enhance the professional growth and development of Nigerian Army officers.
In his welcome remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, highlighted the importance of career planning and management in the military. He urged officers to take advantage of the lecture to gain insights into opportunities and challenges in career advancement.
Delivering the lecture, the Military Secretary (Army), Major General Everest Okoro, addressed key aspects of career development, including career reviews, performance appraisals, promotions, postings, and professional development.
An interactive session followed, allowing participants to engage in discussions and receive expert guidance directly from the Military Secretary.
The Nigerian Army said the sensitisation lecture reflects its commitment to excellence and professionalism, as well as its investment in the career progression of officers.
The event was attended by senior officers, including Commanders and Staff Officers from formations, schools, and establishments in Lagos.
