Asisat Oshoala Set To Join Saudi Club Al-Hilal

Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala is close to sealing a move from Bay FC in the United States to Saudi Women’s League side Al Hilal.

According to The Athletic, the Nigerian forward arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday to undergo medical checks, a step that brings her transfer closer to completion.

The deal was finalized before the transfer deadline, though the fee remains undisclosed.

Oshoala was noticeably absent from Bay FC’s squad in their 2-1 defeat to Angel City on Monday night, further fueling speculations about her exit.

The Athletic added that Al Hilal completed the agreement for the Nigerian international striker before the transfer window closed.

“ Bay FC and Al Hilal reached an agreement on an undisclosed transfer fee, and Oshoala is now in Saudi Arabia ahead of a medical scheduled for tonight (Monday) ,” the report stated.

The 30-year-old striker joined Bay FC in February 2024 from Barcelona Femeni, where she had enjoyed a successful spell.

Since moving to the National Women’s Soccer League, Asisat Oshoala has made 38 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals. However, her role with the team has gradually reduced over time.

Oshoala’s career has seen her feature for clubs across Nigeria, Europe, Asia, and the US. She first came to prominence with Rivers Angels before going on to play for top sides like Liverpool, Arsenal, Dalian Quanjian, and Barcelona.

She also remains a key figure for Nigeria’s women’s national team and was part of the squad that clinched a record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco last year.

KanyiDaily recalls that Asisat Oshoala previously expressed her interest in finding a boyfriend before December.
