August 13, (THEWILL) — The Benue State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lamented the death of its State Youth leader, Francis Atondo Ibya, saying he embodied the virtues of loyalty, dedication, and commitment to the party’s ideals and principles.
State chairman of the party, Rt. Honourable Ezekiel Adaji, who announced Ibya’s death, noted his zeal for the mobilisation and mentorship of the youth will remain an enduring legacy in the annals of their political history.
The State PDP Youth Leader, whose unfortunate death occurred on August 9, 2025, after a brief illness, hails from Mbayegh Council ward, Ushongo local Government area of Benue State.
“The State Working Committee extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and associates, and stands in solidarity with them in this moment of grief”, it said.
In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tim Nyor, and Henry Ibya, the family stated that a wake will be kept at the deceased’s residence in Makurdi on August 19, 2025.
On August 20, 2025, a second wake in Tse Ibya, Mbayegh community, while the burial will be held at Tse Ibya Atume, Mbaakoso, Mbayegh, Ushongo Local Government Area in the state on August 21, 2025.
Meanwhile, Jerchira Media Forum (JMF) commiserated with the Ibya Atume family over the death of their loved son.
President of the Forum, Kajo Martins, in a letter of Condolence to Comrade Henry Ibya of Aljazera newspaper, urges the family to be consoled that the late Francis Ibya lived a life worthy of emulation, having worked for the political development of the state as the PDP Youth leader.
