Benue police rescue 6 abducted law students

Benue State Police Command announced the successful rescue of six Nigerian Law School students from the Yola Campus, who were kidnapped while traveling.

In a statement released to journalists in Makurdi on August 1, 2025, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edet Udeme, confirmed the operation’s success.

“The students were safely rescued on the morning of August 1 and have been reunited with their families,” Udeme declared.

She revealed that the students, abducted on July 26 along the Joota/Wukari Federal Highway while traveling from Anambra to Adamawa, were freed on High Tension Road in Wukari, Taraba State.

Udeme further noted, “After their rescue, the students were taken to the Ukum Divisional Police Headquarters before being joyfully reunited with their families.”
