Big Brother Naija 10/10 Week 1 Recap: All the Details on Ships, Fights and Tears

From food fights to emotional breakdowns, the first week of the Big Brother Naija 10/10 house was on fire. Just one week into the show, these housemates prove to understand the assignment. Already, we have had multiple fights, many tears, conspiracy theories and very possibly the first sex.

Here’s a breakdown of everything that happened in the first week of the Big Brother Naija 10/10 season.

Jason Jae won the interim Head of House

In the first Head of House challenge, Jason Jae emerged as the winner and secured luxury lounge access and immunity. He picked Doris as his partner. The next day, he successfully defended his position in the HoH challengers, cementing his role.

Fake nominations 

Housemates nominated each other on Monday during their Diary Room sessions. However, unknown to them, the nominations are fake, and there will be no eviction in Week 1.

First food fight of the season

HoH Jason Jae appointed Big Soso and Otega to manage the kitchen. Otega confronted Imisi for cooking large portions despite claiming to cook only for herself, and this escalated into a full-blown argument.

Ivatar and Sultana clash 

Tensions flared as Ivatar walked on a freshly mopped floor as Sultana was cleaning. Sultana scolded her for “disrespecting” the area, and Ivatar did not take that lightly. 

Koyin and Kaybobo fight over food

Koyin was seen in the garden bawling his eyes out hours after a heated argument with Kaybobo, during which Kaybobo accused Koyin of being disrespectful.

Kaybobo and Mensah also fight 

Mensan and Kaybobo clashed verbally. Kaybobo accused Mensan of tagging him a bully. Mensan fired back after Kaybobo referenced his mother. Biggie had to call Kola into the Diary Room to help de-escalate the situation.

First Pool Party of the season

The first Pool Party of the season happened on Thursday. It is particularly notable because it was the origin of a heated clash between Otega and Victory. 

Otega clashed with the housemates over grilled meat 

After the pool party, Denari and Otega had a confrontation over chicken portions. Denari grabbed extra chicken from Otega’s plate, leading to heated words. Housemates had to intervene before it got physical.

The housemates lost their wager

The housemates’ first wager task featured a dramatic, ballroom unmasking theme. Their performance fell flat. Biggie called it unremarkable and stripped them of groceries and luxuries for the week.

First Saturday night party of the season

The housemates showed up and out at the first Saturday night turn-up of the season. Dj Phatt had the whole party room lit up in every sense of it with back-to-back bangers. 

Isabella and Kanyinkumi put the house on heat 

Immediately after the party, Isabella and Kanyikunmi took centre stage in the lounge and later in the bedroom. Viewers saw them cuddling, whispering, and lip-locking in a steamy make-out session.
