Blatant Lies About Killings In The Southeast Can No Longer Stand – Igbokwe

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has blamed Igbos for the insecurity plaguing the southeast.
Speaking via a post on his Facebook page, Igbokwe exonerated Fulani herdsmen, who have constantly been blamed for the insecurity in the region.

Expressing sadness over the situation, Igbokwe lamented that this is not the culture of the Igbos.

He wrote, “The blatant and pathological lies about the killings and destruction in the South East can no longer stand.

“It is Igbo killing Igbo, it is Igbo destroying Igboland and putting the blame on Hausa/Fulani Herdsmen. This is not our culture. This is sad.”

Naija News reports that Igbokwe’s submission comes amidst the murder of Anambra businessman, Ifesinachi Onyekere, widely known as “Fish Magnet”,

Fish Magnet was found dead on Wednesday, days after he was kidnapped from his residence in the Ezinifite community in Okpuno, Awka South LGA of Anambra State.

Meanwhile, Igbokwe has said that former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Okey Ralph Nwosu, is the luckiest man in the party.

Naija News reports that a coalition of opposition figures in the country on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, adopted the ADC as its platform to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.

Nwosu, a founding member and long-serving national chairman of the party, had, alongside other party executives, stepped down for former Senate President David Mark and other coalition members as they assumed leadership of the party.

Reacting, Igbokwe, in a post on his official Facebook page, insinuated that Nwosu had struggled for the party for many years, and it is his time to cash out.

His post reads: “The luckiest man in this ADC Coalition is Chief Okey Nwosu. He has struggled with this party for many years now.

“Okey Nwannem collect as much as you can. It is your time. You laboured for it. But the small bird will not fly. Cash out bro.”
