Borussia Dortmund fans pictured storming Stamford Bridge barriers in chaotic scenes before Chelsea Champions League clash

Borussia Dortmund fans were pictured storming over barriers at Stamford Bridge in chaotic scenes ahead of the Champions League clash.

Supporters were seen scrambling over barriers ahead of the second leg of the last-16 match in chaotic scenes on Tuesday night.

Some Dortmund fans broke through barriers at Stamford Bridge

It is currently unclear if any fans without tickets managed to gain entry to the stadium.

Earlier in the evening, kick-off of the crunch Champions League clash was delayed by ten minutes after Dortmund were delayed getting to the ground.

They arrived at Stamford Bridge around 30 minutes late and the decision was taken to put kick-off back by a few minutes.

Manager Edin Terezic said of his side’s later arrival: “We had a bit of a delay but we are here and ready to fight for the next round.

” We didn’t know if we would start on time or if there will be a delay to kick off, it is disturbing a lot.”

Thousands of Dortmund fans descended on west London for the clash in the hope of seeing their side progress to the next round, and took a 1-0 lead into the tie.

There was a heavy police presence as the supporters were escorted to the Chelsea stadium.

The travelling fans created a fierce atmosphere inside Stamford Bridge, covering the pitch in yellow smoke.
