September 19, (THEWILL) — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Command has promoted and decorated 13 officers to senior ranks to ensure road safety and reduce accidents on highways across Ogun State.
The elevated officers were promoted to the posts of Assistant Corps Commander (ACC), Chief Route Commander (CRC), Superintendent Route Commander (SRC) and Assistant Route Commander (ARC).
Those promoted to the position of ACC are Clement T. Akpenwuan, Sule Okloho, P.D. Gogomi, Esther O. Adewoye, and Oladejo Temitope Adekunle.
Speaking at the event held at the Corps’ Headquarters Office in Abeokuta on Thursday, the FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fashakin, urged the officers to brace up for challenges that surround their new positions.
Fashakin tasked them to make use of their newly promoted positions to discharge their duties professionally, especially on the federal roads.
He said, “I congratulate you all and wish you good luck. I don’t envy you at all. What I mean is that I don’t envy you at all is that you are transitioning from one phase to another, from one responsibility to a higher one.
“The expectations of the corps and the management are higher now, so you should prepare for new challenges and new responsibilities, and I know God will enable you.
“Promotion is not a right, it is a privilege. The management may decide not to promote anybody, so it is a reward for hard work, diligence and commitment, but at the same time consider yourself lucky, and at the same time don’t be carried away with your new rank”, he noted.
