BREAKING: Abdullahi Sani Abacha is dead [PHOTOS]

Abdullahi Sani Abacha, one of the sons of the late Nigerian military ruler, Sani Abacha, has died.

Family sources confirmed Abdullahi’s demise to POLITICS NIGERIA on Saturday, saying he died peacefully in his sleep at the family’s Nelson Mandela Street residence, Abuja.

“He was hale and hearty last night but was found dead this morning. He died peacefully in his sleep,” a source said.

His brother, Mahmud Abacha, the fourth son of Late Abacha, also confirmed the sad news in a terse post.

“I just lost my brother, Abdullahi. May his soul rest in Jannatil Firdaus,” he said.

This newspaper gathered that the funeral prayer would hold by 4 pm at the National Mosque, Abuja later today (Saturday).

Born in 1987, the deceased was one of the 10 children left behind by the late military leader.
