August 02, (THEWILL) — The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, Bayo Ojulari, who was appointed in April 2025, has not resigned from office, a senior Presidency official told THEWILL on Saturday, dismissing claims of his resignation.
Reports of Ojulari’s resignation emerged on Saturday before it was refuted by the ranking presidency official, who asked not to be identified. THEWILL checks revealed that Mr Ojulari was at the Abuja headquarters of the DSS on Friday to discuss a security matter relating to the oil sector. It appeared that this was what triggered the talks of his resignation by those seeking his ouster from office.
THEWILL previously reported it and then deleted the report when further checks indicated the contrary after a close associate of Ojulari, who also sought anonymity, dismissed his resignation claim.
Ojulari has been dogged by controversies since his appointment by President Bola Tinubu after he fired Mele Kyari, Ojulari’s predecessor.
