BREAKING: PDP Confirms Ibadan Convention Will Hold After High-Level Meeting

The Peoples Democratic Party has confirmed that its long-awaited elective convention will still take place in Ibadan.

This followed a high-level meeting held late Thursday in Abuja, where top party leaders finally reached a clear decision on the matter.

Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, who leads the Convention Planning Committee, told newsmen that the party is fully set.

He made it clear that the decision has been sealed.
Fintiri said the leaders met, reviewed key issues, and reached a final agreement.

In his words, “We’ve just come out of our critical stakeholders’ meeting where a lot of elaborate decisions were taken.”

He added that, “I want to tell you here that we are going to Ibadan for our convention, and the convention is sacrosanct.”

The meeting took place at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro.

Several top figures attended. They included Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde, PDP National Chairman Umar Damagum, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba, and former minister Tanimu Turaki.

However, Governor did not take further questions. His security team moved him away immediately after the brief statement.
