Brighton produced a stunning fightback to beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Amex Stadium, handing the champions back-to-back Premier League defeats.
Erling Haaland had put City ahead in the 34th minute, marking his 100th Premier League appearance with his 88th goal, but missed further chances.
Brighton drew level midway through the second half when James Milner coolly converted a penalty after a Matheus Nunes handball. At 39 years and 239 days, Milner became the second-oldest goalscorer in Premier League history, behind Teddy Sheringham, and netted his first league goal since 2019.
With momentum on their side, the Seagulls pushed forward and were rewarded in the closing stages.
Gruda, signed from Mainz last year, showed composure to slot past Ederson for his third Brighton goal, sealing a famous win on the south coast.
The result leaves Pep Guardiola’s side with just three points from their opening three matches, following last week’s 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham.
Brighton, meanwhile, moved to four points as Roberto De Zerbi’s men celebrated one of their most memorable Premier League victories.
