Substitute Fabio Carvalho tapped in a 93th-minute equaliser for the hosts to deny Chelsea victory in a dramatic derby.
Kevin Schade opened scoring in tge first half before Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo turned the game around in the second half, but fought back in injury time.
Chelsea remain fifth after four Premier League matches, and will now turn their attention to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Earlier in the day, Arsenal had thrashed Nottingham Forest 3-0 as new boss Ange Postecoglou loses his first game.
In the other Premier League games, Everton were held to a goalless draw by visting Aston Villa, while Bournemouth defeated Brighton 2-1.
Crystal Palace also played a goalless with Sunderland, and Tottenham Hotspur thrashed West Ham 3-0 in a one-sided game.
Fulham pipped Leeds United 1-0 and Newcastle United defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0.
