A 47-year-old Chinese national, identified as Mr. Luo Zhi Mao has reportedly collapsed and died at BN Ceramics company in Ajaokuta, Kogi state.
The expatriate, said to be a supervisor in the company, and working in the Press Department allegedly slumped on Saturday, August 2, around 6:30 p.m.
He was said to have been rushed to a hospital at Ajaokuta, where he was referred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Lokoja, but confirmed dead at another hospital around 9:30pm on Tuesday.

“He was rushed to the Covenant Hospital in Ajaokuta, where he was later referred to the Teaching hospital, former Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja, because of his critical state.

Efforts made to speak with management of the company over the incident was unsuccessful, as a staff told our reporter that “for now, the management may not speak on the incident until the autopsy report is released “.
However, the kogi state police command confirmed the incident to Daily Trust on Friday.
The state command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Aya, said the Chinese expatriate died as a result of suspected ill health.
He said the investigation to determine the actual cause of his death is ongoing, which will be released to the appropriate authority when completed.
Meanwhile, the body of the dead Chinese supervisor has been deposited at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital’s Mortuary for an autopsy.
