Nollywood actor Zubby Michaels has reacted to the recent attack on Angwan Rukuba, a community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State that claimed several lives.
Naija News reports that the actor in a post on his Instagram story, advised Christians living in the area to consider leaving for their own safety.
He warned that staying back could expose them to more danger if such attacks happen again.
He wrote: “Christians should leave Jos,”
Reacting, media personality Daddy Freeze questioned the advice given by the actor.
He pointed out that the affected residents are in their own land and should not have to run away.
He added that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that citizens are safe wherever they live.
”Why? It’s their homeland? Why should they run? It’s the government’s duty to protect them,” he stated.
Meanwhile, hundreds of angry residents in Plateau State on Monday morning defied the state-imposed curfew and flooded the streets to protest the deadly Palm Sunday attack that claimed several lives in Jos North Local Government Area.
The protest took place at Anguwan Rukuba, the community where the attack occurred on Sunday evening.
Videos from the protest circulating on social media showed residents chanting and demanding urgent government action over the recurring killings in the area.
Some of the demonstrators expressed frustration over what they described as the government’s failure to prevent repeated attacks in the state.
One of the residents participating in the protest said the curfew imposed by the government was not a solution to the persistent security challenges.
