Dangote promises support; Phyna seeks abroad care for injured sister

Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, has called for her sister, Ruth Otabor, to be taken to India for further medical treatment.

In a video making the rounds online on Sunday, monitored by the news outlet, Punch, Phyna was seen at the hospital reception where her sister is receiving care, accompanied by individuals identified as members of the Dangote Group management team.

Ruth sustained life-altering injuries in an accident that occurred on August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, leading to the amputation of her leg just six days after completing her studies at the institution.

In the footage, Phyna expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of medical care her sister was receiving locally, insisting that treatment abroad was necessary.

When one of the men present objected to her remarks, she stood her ground.

“Dangote will not bring his child here,” she reiterated.

Asked whether she intended to take her sister overseas, Phyna confirmed and revealed India as her chosen destination.

“Yes… India,” she replied.
