The annual phenomenon known as Detty December is once again upon us, with Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike coming into the country from abroad or other states to celebrate the festive season with friends, family, and maybe even a few strangers. Typically, they converge in Lagos, the country’s hub of culture and entertainment. And naturally, there are tons of events designed to ensure they have the best possible time. One of those events is Detty December Fest, Livespot‘s aptly named festival and one of the biggest of the season, spanning multi-stage concerts, nightlife experiences, fashion and cultural showcases, culinary pop-ups, and large-scale art installations.
Detty December Fest 2025 will run from December 6 to December 31 at two venues in Lagos: Ilubirin on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, and The Livespot Entertarium at Oba Elegushi in Lekki, with each day dedicated to a specific activity. There will be multiple performances, and Livespot has just announced its line-up of performers for the first wave of the festival, including multi-platinum rapper Gunna, East African sensation Juma Jux, hip-hop icon Busta Rhymes, and street-pop hitmaker Bella Shmurda.
The Federal Government of Nigeria is partnering with Livespot for Detty December Fest, with Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture & the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, releasing a message in which she recognises Detty December Fest as a defining contributor to Nigeria’s cultural ecosystem, spotlighting its role in strengthening Nigeria’s global creative presence and attracting holiday tourism.
With almost a full month dedicated to festivities, Detty December Fest appears poised to be one of the highlights of the month, and perhaps the whole year.
