Arsenal tightened their grip at the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, showcasing once again their deadly precision from set pieces.
The Gunners broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, when Viktor Gyökeres capitalized on a clever corner routine orchestrated by Declan Rice and Gabriel, slotting home from close range to give his side an early lead.
Their dominance continued midway through the first half.
In the 35th minute, a swift counterattack culminated in Rice rising highest to power a header past Martin Dúbravka, doubling Arsenal’s advantage and leaving Burnley chasing shadows.
Burnley struggled to find their rhythm, failing to register a single shot before halftime.
Though they showed a bit more intent after the break, Arsenal’s defense remained untroubled, securing a seventh consecutive clean sheet across all competitions.
The victory takes Arsenal to 25 points from 10 matches, seven points ahead of second-placed Bournemouth, who are yet to play on Sunday. Burnley, meanwhile, remain in 17th place with just 10 points, as their difficult start to the season continues.
