Dr. Hafsat Oduwole-Balewa Meets With OGFTZ’s Investors

On March 4, 2023, the Chairperson of Ogun-Guandong Free Trade Zone, Dr. Hafsat Oduwole-Balewa, held a meeting with all the investors at the zone. Accompanied by Hon. Salako, her secretary Barrister Awe, and other team members, the meeting aimed to familiarize with the investors and discuss how the Ogun State government could assist them.

As the joint venture between the Ogun State Government and Chinese investors, the Ogun-Guandong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ) is a platform for trade and investment between Nigeria and China. Dr. Oduwole-Balewa addressed the investors, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and ensuring the progress of the zone. The investors welcomed her and pledged to work together.

Dr. Oduwole-Balewa promised to make herself available to the investors regularly, and she also shared her plans to assist them with loans and ensure the safety of the zone and the host community. She had previously worked with the Ogun state security agency to maintain security during the last presidential election.

After the meeting, Dr. Oduwole-Balewa visited the palace of the Oloja Ekun of Igbesa Land, HRM Oba AbdulAzeez Toyin Akinde, to discuss security measures and prevent encroachment on the zone’s premises. The king pledged to hold town hall meetings with the rural dwellers to maintain law and order in the community. Dr. Oduwole-Balewa also toured some of the factories to witness the investors’ progress.
