Nigeria’s D’Tigress suffered their second defeat at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament, losing 93–86 to hosts France on Sunday.
The African champions entered the game aiming for a third win in four matches, while France sought to maintain their perfect run after victories over the Philippines, Colombia, and Germany.
The hosts controlled much of the first half, winning the opening quarter 29–21 before both sides shared the second quarter 28–28, giving France a 57–45 lead at halftime.

Nigeria improved after the break, outscoring France 21–15 in the third quarter to cut the deficit.
However, France held their composure in the final quarter, edging it 21–20 to seal the win and remain unbeaten.
D’Tigress will face Germany on Tuesday as they look to finish their qualifying campaign on a positive note.
