Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has imposed a one-month suspension on 25 commissioners, 22 permanent secretaries, and 38 aides due to their absence from a significant government function.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Dr. Monday Uzor, announced this in a statement issued on Monday in Abakaliki.
Among the suspended commissioners are Mr. Stanley Mbam (Works), Prof. Leonard Uguru (Finance), Dr. Mathew Nwobashi (Lands and Survey), Mr. Victor Chukwu (Environment), and Chief Ikeuwa Omebe (Information).
Affected permanent secretaries include Dr. Lawrence Ezeogo, Dr. Isioma Arunne-Inyang, Mrs. Rose Ibe, Mrs. Ogechi Nwobashi, Mrs. Theresa Anwu, and Dr. Lynda Alo.
The 14 suspended Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) include Mrs. Bessy Chukwu, Mrs. Rose Ofoke, Mr. Kieran Ofoke, and Chief Anthony Nwegede, among others.
Additionally, 24 Special Assistants (SAs) were suspended, including Mr. Emmanuel Mbam, Mr. Tobias Ogbonna, Mr. Easy Okike-Uzor, Mr. Obinna Oko-Enyim, Mr. Chima Okoro, Mr. Amaechi Nwali, Mr. Henry Nwele, Mr. Isaac Ogodo-Ali, and Mr. Godwin Nwoba, among others listed.
According to the CPS, the suspension is effective immediately and applies to all named officials without exception.
