Edo Governor Okpebholo suspends Oil and Gas Adviser for alleged unauthorized fundraising

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, Felix Osemwengie Isere, over allegations of unauthorized fundraising tied to a planned Oil and Gas summit in the state.

The suspension was disclosed in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor, on Tuesday in Benin.

According to the SSG, the governor has also ordered an immediate cancellation of the summit, originally set to commence on August 7.

“The summit is suspended due to this violation, and Isere is instructed to refund all funds collected from donors for the event,” Ikhilor stated.

“Prospective donors are advised to cease all interactions with the suspended adviser.”
