The Chief Medical Director (CMD), Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, EKSUTH, Prof Kayode Olabanji has expressed concerns over the rate at which medical doctors and other health workers are seeking job opportunities outside the country.

Prof Olabanji stated this on Tuesday during a press conference ahead of the 15th Anniversary of the health institution on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

“Every doctor now looks for greener pastures. The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had been calling on the government to improve their welfare.

“Government has approved the payment of the hazard allowances to health workers and there is hope that things will get better,” he assured.

The EKSUTH boss also disclosed that, henceforth, prospective students for its College of Nursing and Midwifery would be writing the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination to enable them secure a Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate.
