The joy of Chelsea supporters was not full despite their 5-1 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium due to the injury Cole Palmer picked up during warm-up.
The England international was replaced with Esteavo by Enzo Maresca in what ended up being a fix-and-plug. Chelsea fans were worried because Cole Palmer is the second player to pick up an injury for the Blues since Levi Colwill.
Maresaca said,
“Cole was not 100% in the last few days. He tried in the warm-up to play, but he was not right. We will see how bad it is. He was already not 100% against Palace but tried to make an effort for the club.”
Paqueta gave West Ham the lead when he scored the opening goal of the match in the first five minutes, but everything went south when Joao Pedro equalised for Chelsea in the 15th minute.
There was no looking back for the Blues as they scored two more goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernández in the first half. Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah scored two more goals in the second half to complete the scoreline 5-1.
Chelsea fans will hope Cole Palmer is fit for their next game against Brentford. The midfielder has been a key part of Chelsea’s success since he joined them two seasons ago from Manchester City.
