September 03, (THEWILL) — The English Premier League has confirmed six fixture amendments for September and October, following scheduling conflicts with UEFA competitions. English clubs qualifying for European tournaments have prompted these changes to accommodate their continental commitments during the 2025/2026 season.
Six EPL teams will participate in the UEFA Champions League this campaign, with five earning qualification through their previous season performance and Tottenham Hotspur joining after claiming the UEFA Europa League trophy against Manchester United. This European success ended Spurs’ trophy drought and ensured their place among England’s UCL representatives.
Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest will compete in the Europa, whilst Crystal Palace enters the Conference League. These competitions follow Chelsea’s Conference League triumph, which completed their collection of European honours and marked the second consecutive year English sides claimed the second and third-tier UEFA trophies.
The rescheduled fixtures include AFC Bournemouth versus Newcastle United moving to Sunday, September 21 due to Newcastle’s midweek UCL commitment. Tottenham’s match against Wolves shifts to Saturday, September 27, accommodating their subsequent UCL fixture.
Additional changes affect Aston Villa’s home encounter with Fulham on Sunday, September 28, Everton hosting Palace on Sunday, October 5, Brentford welcoming Liverpool on Saturday, October 25, and Arsenal facing Palace on Sunday, October 26.
